Bert’s 50’s Diner – Good food and an Excellent Value
Comfortable Atmosphere
I took my kids to Bert’s 50’s Diner in Mechanicsville, MD for lunch today since they are off school for Spring Break. While this was not our first visit, it struck me I should write about the consistently good food and service. The first thing you’ll notice when you walk in the front door is the black and white tiled floor, the “oldies” music playing in the background, and the positive energy. It’s a comfortable place to have lunch, dinner, or an after meal treat.
Classically Varied Menu
The menu is pleasantly varied and sure to satisfy just about any palette. According to their website:
“Plan a roadtrip of flavors…
Take your tastebuds on that Great American Road trip with our Menu full of classics from across the Country. If you want to start your trip looking good, go for the Hotrods and Hub Cap Nachos for an appetizer. Slow down and enjoy one of our Blue Plate Specials. But whatever else you may see along the way, one pit stop for dessert will leave you wishing you never had to leave the open road!”
I’ve had several different things and haven’t been disappointed; Open faced turkey sandwich, Rock fish sandwich, cheeseburgers, and of course their ice cream sundaes. They have soft served and hand dipped. Yum!
Consistently Good Food and Service
According to Bert’s history, it has been a part of the Southern Maryland Community since 1985 with several expansions since. One thing that keeps us coming back is the consistently good food, great service, and excellent value. We know we are going to enjoy ourselves without breaking the bank. Seems like any restaurant that’s been around this long must be doing something right.
